"We are the times" is the title of the 2024 edition of the Summer Seminar of the Symbola Foundation, which will be held in Mantua, Italy, at the Bibiena Scientific Theater from June 27 to 29, 2024.
This motto, taken from the famous phrase by Saint Augustine, "Bad times, hard times, this is what people keep saying; but let us live well, and the times shall be good. We are the times," was chosen by the organizers to emphasize human beings' responsibilities—the cultural, economic, and social choices we must make—to address the current, looming, and future crises: climate, demographic, energy, and geopolitical.

About Symbola Foundation' summer seminar: a premier event for sustainability and development in Italy
The Summer Seminar is the flagship event of the Symbola Foundation. Over the years, it has become a cornerstone for discussions on sustainability, development, competitiveness, culture, and the strategic positioning of the country. Last year's edition featured 13 events and 108 speakers, drawing strong public participation and excellent coverage in both local and national media. This success solidified Mantua as the ideal venue for the Summer Seminar, organized by the Symbola Foundation in collaboration with Unioncamere, the Municipality, the Tea Group, the Saviola Group, and the main local trade associations.
This year’s Summer Seminar will once again highlight and showcase numerous institutional, entrepreneurial, and social entities that, through their dedication, demonstrate the possibility of creating better times by fostering a human-centered economy and society. The comprehensive program includes conferences, debates, events, and book presentations, featuring entrepreneurs, scientists, intellectuals, and representatives from the worlds of economics, politics, and society.
