MGTES is a long life and innovative Thermal Energy Storage (TES) solution
developed and consolidated by Magaldi in recent years, capable of playing an important role in the global decarbonization and energy optimization of industrial process.
MGTES is a high temperature TES featured by fluidized bed of solid particles capable of receiving energy in the form of both electricity and heat trough immersed elements. It stores energy and releases it when is most needed.
MGTES technology is a modular system that provides flexibility in the system in wich is integrated and represents a Long Thermal Storage solution.
Power to power applications
MGTES technology is designed to absorb surplus energy from renewable power plants or directly from the electricity grid.
Power to Heat Applications
Heat accounts for approximately 45% of energy related emissions and more than 50% of global energy consumption. Industrial applications constitute the largest share of heat consumption, amounting to 40% of the total heat demand, and around 70% of this demand is met by fossil sources.
Heat electrification – made possible by the integration of renewable energy sources with thermal energy storage technologies- is an effective decarbonization option.

Thanks to the stringent decarbonization policies, a strong increase in the penetration of renewables within the electricity system is expected
