Letizia Magaldi thanks Kyoto Club and urges action on Climate Crisis and European Decarbonization targets
"I would like to thank the Kyoto Club Board of Directors for their trust in me and for proposing my election to the Members' Assembly," said Letizia Magaldi, who takes over from Catia Bastioli, CEO of Novamont S.p.A., who served as President of the Club for over ten years. "I also extend my gratitude to the Representatives of all the Associates for their support. The climate crisis demands action to meet the European decarbonization targets, which can also promote research and technological innovation, offering significant new opportunities for sustainable growth and enhancing the competitiveness of the industrial system”.
Kyoto Club: driving climate action and sustainable innovation since 1999
Kyoto Club, founded in February 1999, is a non-profit organization comprising companies, entities, associations, and local administrations dedicated to reducing greenhouse gas emissions as outlined by the Kyoto Protocol, Paris Agreement, and European Green Deal. The club promotes initiatives in energy efficiency, renewable energy, waste management, sustainable agriculture, and mobility, supporting the bioeconomy, green economy, and circular economy. Additionally, Kyoto Club collaborates with national and European policymakers and the UNFCCC to drive effective policies and proposals in the energy and environmental sectors.
Letizia Magaldi brings expertise in industrial green transition and TES technology to Kyoto Club Presidency
Technologies such as Thermal Energy Storage (TES) - in which Magaldi Green Energy is a pioneer with its innovative MGTES Magaldi Green Thermal Energy Storage (LINK MGTES) patent - are vital for the renewable transition of industries worldwide and play a fundamental role in achieving these ambitious green targets. TES technologies enable the efficient storage and utilization of renewable energy, making them essential for reducing carbon emissions and promoting sustainable industrial practices. Letizia Magaldi is one of the most suitable Italian figures to advocate for this industrial transition, as she represents a Made in Italy company that has consistently invested in cutting-edge green heat innovation. Her leadership in a company dedicated to advancing sustainable and circular economy practices positions her as a key spokesperson for driving industrial progress towards a greener future. "I will approach this new role with enthusiasm and determination - concluded Letizia Magaldi - working with the national and international networks that Kyoto Club is part of and collaborating with Italian and European policymakers to advance sustainability”.
