Quality and commitment in research and development of technologies for environmental sustainability led the way for Magaldi Green Energy's accession as Technology Provider to the prestigious LDES Council - Long Duration Energy Storage Council, set up by McKinsey.
Born in Glasgow, Scotland, during COP26 - the last United Nations Conference on Climate Change - the LDES Council sees among its notable affiliates companies such as Breakthrough Energy, founded by Bill Gates, and is at the forefront on promoting solutions, technologies and policies aimed at achieving carbon neutrality and accelerating innovation in sustainability energy.
Magaldi Green Energy is now in the Council thanks to its focus on energy transition and its patented STEM Concentrated Solar Thermal and MGTES technologies, charging and discharging energy through its fluidized sand bed. The sand fluidization system has significant benefits: large thermal storage capacity, high thermal efficiency, fast response times, 100% ESG compliant thanks to the use of natural materials, and many more.
“We are proud to be joining and contributing to the prestigious and forward looking LDES Council - says Letizia Magaldi, Vice President of Magaldi Green Energy - the MGTES’ system stores renewable energy and waste heat when in surplus and releases green thermal energy or electricity for industrial consumption, balancing the gap between supply and demand and helping to stabilize the grid. We believe that simple and dependable TES technologies will help accelerate towards higher energy transition targets”.
