Through the REPower EU plan, dedicated to energy issues, the European Commission highlighted the urgent need for greater investments in renewable sources and energy efficiency to reduce the current European geopolitical dependence. To achieve these goals, all the main industrial sectors are now asked to exceed a decarbonisation threshold up to 60 per cent. In this scenario, what role can industrial energy communities play and what are the most suitable tools and strategies to encourage the self-production of renewable energy?
